We will remove the level crossing at Station Street in Beaconsfield by building a new road bridge over the rail line.
This design means we can get rid of these crossings sooner and will be less disruptive for road and rail users during construction.
Removing this crossing will improve safety, reduce congestion, and allow more trains to run, more often.
The removal of this site will help to create a level crossing-free Pakenham line which will change how locals live, work and travel. With no level crossings on the train line, journeys on the Pakenham line will be faster and local roads safer.
Site investigations will start in the coming months and construction will be completed by 2025.
