North Road, Ormond

The level crossing at North Road in Ormond was removed in 2016, and the new Ormond Station opened late in that year.

This crossing was removed by lowering the rail line below North Road.

Community feedback on this project helped identify an opportunity to add a second entrance to the station that allows easier access from both sides of North Road.

Palm trees were temporarily removed for construction near the station, but were successfully replanted.

McKinnon Road, McKinnon

The level crossing at McKinnon Road, McKinnon was removed in 2016 and a new McKinnon Station opened that same year.

The level crossing was removed by lowering the rail line below McKinnon Road.

Centre Road, Bentleigh

The level crossing at Centre Road, Bentleigh was removed in 2016 and the new Bentleigh Station opened that same year.

The level crossing was removed by lowering the rail line below Centre Road.

The Centre Road level crossing was removed at the same times as other crossings at McKinnon Road, McKinnon and North Road, Ormond.

The stations are now safer, more user friendly and fully accessible, with lifts, ramps and stairs down to platforms below ground level in the new rail cutting.
