Boom Gates Gone
Completion

The level crossing at Lower Plenty Road in Rosanna has been removed and the new Rosanna Station opened in 2018.

A rail bridge was built over Lower Plenty Road and a new station at Rosanna was built as part of the project.

Work to fully complete the landscaping at Rosanna station will take place over coming months.

This work has been completed as part of a package of works that also removed the level crossing at Grange Road, Alphington and duplicated a single section of track between Heidelberg and Rosanna.

Before their removal in March 2018, the boom gates at Lower Plenty Road were down for about 43 minutes during the two-hour weekday morning peak, causing delays for around 17,000 vehicles.
