Boom Gates Gone
Completion

The boom gates at Koornang Road in Carnegie are gone and the new Carnegie Station is open.

The Koornang Road crossing was removed as part of the Caulfield to Dandenong Level Crossing Removal Project that involved the removal of nine level crossings.

By constructing an elevated rail line, the project has created 22.5 hectares of open space that will become parkland.

The project is expected to be completed in late 2018 and includes rebuilding five stations at Carnegie, Murrumbeena, Hughesdale, Clayton and Noble Park.
