Planning for the Hurstbridge Line Duplication is now underway. The upgrade will deliver further improvements on the Hurstbridge line, including more train services, less crowding on peak trains and better connections to public transport in Melbourne’s north east.
The project will involve:
- building new modern stations at Greensborough and Montmorency
- the duplication of around three kilometres of track between Greensborough and Montmorency
- the duplication of around 1.5 kilometres of track between Diamond Creek and Wattle Glen.
Site investigations are currently underway and construction for the project is expected to begin in 2020.
