The level crossing at Greens Road in Dandenong South sits in a busy industrial and commercial area.
Our planning and technical work shows the best way to remove this level crossing is to raise the rail line over the road. The dual rail bridge will be about 600 metres long and about eight metres high.
Works at Greens Road have commenced and will be completed by 2023.
The level crossing is being removed as part of the Cranbourne Line Upgrade, which will also:
- fully duplicate track between Dandenong and Cranbourne
- remove the last four level crossings on the line
- build a new Merinda Park Station.
