This vital upgrade will allow for trains every ten minutes on the Cranbourne line.
Working between Dandenong and Cranbourne, we’ll be fully duplicating the line, laying eight kilometres of new track next to the existing one.
We’re also removing the last four remaining level crossings between Cranbourne and the city, and building a brand new station at Merinda Park.

Work is well underway at Evans Road, with contracts now also awarded to start fully duplicating the Cranbourne line, remove the Greens Road level crossing and build a new Merinda Park Station.
Hand in hand with the Metro Tunnel and other vital transport works, this project will make road and rail travel easier and more reliable for people in Melbourne’s south east.

Merinda Park Station – car park closure
Sections of the Merinda Park Station car park will be closed from May 2020.
Cranbourne line – buses replace trains
Buses will replace trains on the Cranbourne line between Dandenong and Cranbourne stations from 9pm Friday 5 June to Monday 8 June.
