This vital upgrade will allow for trains every ten minutes on the Cranbourne line.
Working between Dandenong and Cranbourne, we’ll be fully duplicating the line, laying eight kilometres of new track next to the existing one.
We’re also removing the last four remaining level crossings between Cranbourne and the city, and building a brand new station at Merinda Park.

Work is well underway at Evans Road, with contracts now also awarded to start fully duplicating the Cranbourne line, remove the Greens Road level crossing and build a new Merinda Park Station.
Hand in hand with the Metro Tunnel and other vital transport works, this project will make road and rail travel easier and more reliable for people in Melbourne’s south east.

Merinda Park Station – car park closure
Sections of the Merinda Park Station car park will be closed from May 2020.
Bus route 799 – stop closures
Bus route 799 will not service stops between Endeavour Drive and Wentworth Avenue from Monday 14 September to Monday 28 September.
Endeavour Drive, Cranbourne North – road closure
Endeavour Drive, Cranbourne North will be temporarily closed in both directions between Gregory and Kennedy courts from Monday 14 September to Monday 28 September.
Cranbourne line – buses replace trains
Buses will replace trains on the Cranbourne line between Dandenong and Cranbourne stations from 10.30pm Friday 16 October to last service Sunday 18 October.

From early September, we’ll be working in the rail corridor between Lynbrook Station and Evans Road to remove excess water from the area, install drainage and build crushed rock haul roads.
