My name’s Michael Walker. I’m a Universal Design Facilitator

The universal design is a process or a philosophy that enables and empowers a diverse population by improving human performances, health, wellness, and especially social participation.

And that could be from someone that uses a mobility aid like myself. Or it could be a scooter. It could be little Johnnie on a skateboard.

I want to create an environment that is fair, inclusive and smart, where you can be very independent, feel safe, and be active and comfortable.

It’s easy to have an idea, but it’s very hard to implement those ideas.

And I think the Community Open Space Panel’s got the capacity to do that.

The first principles of universal design talks about equitable use and that means that everyone is fair regardless of your ability.

And you shouldn’t be stigmatised or separated because of your ability.
