[Title: Level Crossing Removal Project]

Jill Garner - Victorian Government Architect

My name’s Jill Garner. I am the Victorian Government Architect.

[Vision: COSEP - Community Open Space Expert Panel - Jill Garner speaking]

COSEP was put together really to make sure that the voice of the community was integrated into the design outcome as they were developed.

[Vision: People leaving post-it notes with ideas - architect drawing of open space area]

I mean we understand community. We understand safety. We understand how to make sure a place is integrated.

[Jill Garner speaking]

In this particular project every location is different.

[Vision: People leaving post-it notes with ideas]

The best open spaces cater probably for every element of a community.

[Jill Garner speaking]

You’d have to make sure that every element has something they like, something that attracts them to that open space.

[Vision: Post-it notes on architect drawing - community spaces overview]

The skill of the architects, it’s not applying colour or decoration to an engineering solution.

[Jill Garner speaking]

It’s actually taking the fundamentals of the engineering solution and turning it into something that the community is incredibly proud of for many years to come.

[Level Crossing Removal Authority - Victoria State Government]
