[Title: Level Crossing Removal Project]

Professor Tim Entwisle - Director and Chief Executive, Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria

I'm Professor Tim Entwisle. I'm the Director and Chief Executive, Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria.

[Vision: COSEP - Community Open Space Expert Panel]

At the moment I'm chairing COSEP, which is the Community Open Space Expert Panel.

That Panel looks at the 22½ hectares of public open space that's going to result from elevating parts of the Cranbourne-Pakenham line.

So to create extra linear park you create spaces for more trees in the end, but you're also opening up opportunities to connect across the line too.

[Tim Entwisle speaking]

So COSEP is really bringing together the interest groups, the local knowledge, and making sure that what actually gets built, and gets developed, and what gets planted, represents what the community wants.

So not only how this benefits Melbourne in terms of being a great new transport connection, but also what it does for the local communities, how it benefits them with this new open space, the extra connections between communities who were once separated.

And a chance really to do some quite exciting things, new plantings, new parks, new ways of setting up stations, so I'm very much looking forward to the meetings coming up, and to working with COSEP, that community and other representatives, fantastic opportunity for us.
