Works notice – Union Road and Mont Albert Road utility service upgrades reminder

14 Jan 2022

We’re removing the dangerous and congested level crossings at Union Road, Surrey Hills and Mont Albert Road, Mont Albert by lowering the rail line beneath the roads in an open trench and building a new premium station with better facilities and more services.

Works on the Union Road, Surrey Hills and Mont Albert Road, Mont Albert level crossing removal are being carried out with COVIDSafe Plans in place to help protect workers and the community.

For more information and advice about coronavirus (COVID-19), please visit the Coronavirus website.

Further to our previous notice issued in December, this is a reminder that works to relocate existing utility services to make way for the new rail trench will commence in January and continue throughout 2022.

Overhead power line works

Works to bundle existing overhead power in Lorne Parade will commence next week. The works will be undertaken by the service authority, United Energy and their contractors.

Crews will work to bundle the existing power lines to allow greater clearance for plant and machinery to operate and provide a safer working environment for our workforce.

The relevant service authority will provide you with further details, including information about any interruption to the power supply and how to contact them if you have further queries about their works.
