Works notice – Railway Reserve, bike path closure
06 Dec 2020
The Victorian Government is removing four dangerous and congested level crossings at Oakover Road, Bell Street, Cramer Street and Murray Road, and building new Bell and Preston Stations. The level crossings will be removed by raising the rail line over the roads, improving safety and accessibility, and delivering new community open spaces.
Melbourne Water heritage pipe protection works – Railway Reserve Bike Path
From Tuesday 8 December to Friday 11 December 2020 work will take place on the Railway Reserve Bike Path to protect two Melbourne Water heritage-listed pipes. To allow these works to be carried out safely a section of the Railway Reserve Bike Path will be closed. Pedestrians and cyclists will need to detour via Williams Street and Clinch Avenue as shown in the map.
What to expect
- Railway Reserve Bike Path closed between Murray Road and Taunton Avenue with detours in place
- No access to the Railway Reserve Bike Path from Russell Street or Murray Road
- Noise from vehicles and machinery
Signs will be in place, please see map overleaf for more details.
