Works notice – Preston night works
01 Feb 2021
The Victorian Government is removing four dangerous and congested level crossings at Oakover Road, Bell Street, Cramer Street and Murray Road, and building new Bell and Preston Stations. The level crossings will be removed by raising the rail line over the roads, improving safety and accessibility, and delivering new community open spaces.
From 7pm, Friday 12 February to 5am, Monday 15 February 24-hour works will take place in the rail corridor between Miller Street and Murray Road, Preston. These works are essential for installing rail overhead power infrastructure and foundations along the rail corridor, to support the construction of the Preston Level Crossing Removal Project.
There will be traffic management in place to provide Project vehicles and equipment access to the rail corridor at the Regent Street, Oakover Road, Bell Street, Cramer Street, Murray Road and Hutton Street level crossings. There may be some delays for vehicles at these locations.
