Kororoit Creek Road consultation and submissions summary report
01 Dec 2016
This report describes the 2016 consultation program for the Level Crossing Removal Project: Kororoit Creek Road, Williamstown North, including the public submissions received and proposed response to issues raised.
Consultation allowed the Level Crossing Removal Authority (LXRA) to develop a sound understanding of how the community uses the crossing and the surrounding area, enabling it to consider how the design could enhance local access and connectivity.
During parts of our consultation we found that 73 per cent of people that provided feedback, supported the project as they believed it would benefit the local area.
LXRA sought written submissions on the proposed designs for the project during the formal consultation period between Friday 7 October 2016 and Sunday 6 November 2016. Through this period LXRA received 41 written submissions from residents, owners, businesses and other interested stakeholders.
Community consultation has been key to delivering a positive outcome for the local community. Specifically, the 800 metre partial duplication of the Altona Loop to help improve the reliability of the train service is a direct result of early consultation.
