Caulfield to Dandenong area 3 Community Update – January 2018
16 Jan 2018
Major works are underway to remove dangerous level crossings at Corrigan, Heatherton and Chandler roads and build a brand-new station in Noble Park.
Works ramping up
We hit a major milestone in Noble Park recently with the installation of the new station canopy. A total of 59 pieces were placed individually to provide a unique covering over the station platform.
We have also installed a massive 2,400 linear metres of plinth track. A rail plinth is a concrete block that will secure the rail line. The remaining 400 linear metres of plinth track, which will run through Noble Park Station, will be installed in early 2018.
Brand-new Noble Park Station
Construction of the new Noble Park Station is almost complete. We have installed the first walkways along the elevated structure and have made significant progress constructing the ground level station building.
Over the next month, you will notice a lot of activity in the area as we complete the new station, lay the final pieces of rail track, and begin overhead wiring on the elevated structure.
Following this work we will remove the boom gates for good at Heatherton, Corrigan and Chandler roads and open the new Noble Park station.
