Caulfield to Dandenong – Assessment of operational noise

01 Aug 2019

This report outlines the findings of the operational rail noise assessment carried out on the Caulfield to Dandenong elevated rail corridor, in accordance with the requirements of the Incorporated Document.

Noise monitoring was carried out to assess operational rail noise emissions, having regard to the Victorian Government’s Passenger Rail Infrastructure Noise Policy 2013 (PRINP).

Noise monitoring was conducted at 14 locations adjacent to the elevated rail corridor.

The results indicate that the operational rail noise levels are below the PRINP investigation thresholds.

The results also indicate that overall operational train noise levels along the elevated rail corridor are lower than pre-project conditions.
