Carrum – March 2017

Revitalisation program

Carrum village revitalisation

As part of the Station Street and Eel Race Road level crossing removals a rail bridge will be built over a McLeod Road extension to the Nepean Highway and the existing level crossings will be closed.

A full revitalisation of Carrum village will include:

  • connecting Station Street over the Patterson River enabling the closure of the Mascot Avenue, Bonbeach, level crossing
  • creation of a Carrum village square
  • new and enhanced connections to the beach
  • construction of a new, modern Carrum Station
  • removal of the train storage facility
  • street scaping and landscaping to give Station Street and the Nepean Highway a boulevard look and feel.

The changes will improve Carrum and make getting around safer and easier by reducing congestion, improving traffic flow and providing better connections between the beach, local shops, public transport and the local community.

This is a great opportunity to renew the area between Station Street and the Nepean Highway.

We want to hear your ideas for the look and feel of the area and will be starting discussions from mid-2017.

You can get involved through community workshops and online discussions.

  • Carrum village square
  • rail bridge
  • pedestrian crossings
  • local connections and paths
