Supporting your local Surrey Hills and Mont Albert traders this festive season

Back to Newsfeed

As we approach Christmas, now is the time to support local traders and businesses. As part of works to remove the dangerous and congested level crossings at Union Road, Surrey Hills and Mont Albert Road, Mont Albert we’re encouraging our workforce and the locals to get out and do their shopping in the community.

Earlier this year, traders from both Mont Albert Village and Union Road, Surrey Hills participated in independently facilitated co-design workshops, offering ideas and unique insights into the way they trade and how they can be supported while construction is underway, and beyond.

Based on the feedback received at these meetings, as well as door-knocking and online surveys, we developed a plan to create unique brands and launch commercially focused social media accounts for each precinct.

In collaboration with local traders, we launched the new social media accounts in early December featuring festive hamper giveaways and professional photography.

All content is informed by the traders themselves and at the completion of the project, each trader precinct will have established brands and followings to carry them into the future – further encouraging people to shop local.

To stay up to date on upcoming promotions and giveaways from your local traders or to find out more, follow Mont Albert Village Traders and Union Road Surrey Hills on both Facebook and Instagram.
