Seaford Road project works during May
Works are well underway in preparation for the removal of the Seaford Road level crossing. We’ve been busy during March and April preparing the site for construction, with more to come during May.
Day and night works will take place on the Seaford Road level crossing removal from Friday 4 May to Monday 28 May 2018. We’ll be continuing utility relocation works, starting on piling works and constructing the temporary rail line.
Building the temporary rail line means trains can continue to run during the majority of construction, minimising disruption to commuters.
Works will take place 24 hours a day during this period. We will, however, aim to minimise noise where we can during the night.
As part of these works, Seaford Road will be closed at the level crossing between Wednesday 9 May and Saturday 19 May 2018. Traffic management and detours will be in place for road users and pedestrians, with local access maintained. For more information see our disruptions page.
Also due to these works, as well as works on the Skye/Overton Road level crossing removal and the new Frankston Station, buses will be replacing trains on the Frankston and Stony Point lines from Friday 4 May to Sunday 17 June 2018. For more information see our disruptions page.
For the latest project news please see our community update.
We appreciate your patience during the works, particularly over weekends and nights. We will continue to minimise disruption as best we can while we complete this vital project.
