Reservoir – we’ve arrived
25 Feb 2019
The Level Crossing Removal Project team have moved on to site at Reservoir and are getting on with the job of removing the dangerous and congested level crossing.
This month the temporary station buildings, site facilities and construction equipment were established in the car parks at Reservoir Station. These facilities will accommodate around 200 workers at the peak of construction.
The level crossing is set to be removed by building an elevated rail structure and a new, modern Reservoir Station Work to move power lines and underground pipes and cables is already underway – as are preparations for the demolition of the old station and construction of the rail bridge.
The design will create a new station plaza and make it easier for people to move around the area.
These works will have an impact on how you move around the area during construction, so please take note of the following:
- All rail passenger car parks at Reservoir Station will be closed until early 2020.
- The bus interchange is now closed, with temporary bus stop locations open for the duration of our works.
- Macartney Street northbound will be closed between Cheddar Road and Sutton Street until early 2020.
- Parkiteer facilities and bike hoops at Reservoir Station will be removed with temporary bike storage available in March 2019.
We look forward to sharing further progress with you. To stay up to date make sure you subscribe.
