Progress at Reservoir
01 Apr 2019
Works are ramping up in removing the level crossing at High Street in Reservoir.
The recent weekend rail and intersection closure saw the removal of the Reservoir Station buildings on Platform 2, and installation of temporary services and fencing around the station precinct to allow works to continue safely while trains are running.
The 23–24 March weekend saw:
- 15,000 hours worked
- 3 kilometres of optic fibre laid
- 7.5 kilometres of services cables installed
- 2 kilometres of fencing erected
- 60 machines on site.
The stunning Reservoir sunset was captured in pictures of crews working (see image gallery below).
This week there will be another closure of the level crossing and sections of the Mernda line. Works will include the removal of the Platform 1 station buildings, installation of more fencing, disconnecting the existing services and connecting the temporary service route that were laid in March.
The piling rigs for foundation works are arriving in April and soon, construction crews will work to build the foundations for the rail bridge – look out for impressive construction machinery coming soon to Reservoir.
