Preston Open Space Advisory Panel now formed

18 May 2020

The Preston Level Crossing Removal Project will create new open spaces and we are designing these spaces with local input.

The Preston Open Space Advisory Panel will help us ensure the new open spaces meet the needs of the local community.

Your panel representatives are:

  • Ainsley Bedggood
  • Chris Lombardo
  • Esme Bamblett
  • Jennifer Loulie
  • Lucinda Hartley
  • Michael Webb
  • Neil Boland
  • Rowena Archer
  • Shez Bukhari

The nine panel members represent a diverse cross section of the community that include parents, members of local sporting and community groups plus residents, local workers and a Darebin City Council representative.

Feedback from our recent open space online engagement will form the basis of the discussions with members providing local knowledge, insights and connections in developing the new open spaces.

The panel will meet monthly, starting on Tuesday 19 May. Meeting minutes will be available online after the meetings.

We look forward to working with the panel members in creating new open spaces that the community will be able to enjoy for generations to come.

Construction to build the rail bridge over Murray Road, Cramer Street, Bell Street and Oakover Road in Preston is scheduled to begin in late 2020. All four sets of boom gates are scheduled to be gone in 2021, with construction complete in 2022 and the open space ready for locals to enjoy in 2023.
