We're removing 10 more level crossings by 2025, bringing the total to 85 level crossings gone for good.

Major works to start at Hallam

25 Jan 2021

We're gearing up for the first around the clock construction blitz on the Hallam Road Level Crossing Removal Project, set to begin next weekend.

Buses will replace trains on the Pakenham line between Westall and Pakenham stations from 8pm Friday 29 January to the last service on Sunday 31 January.

During this time, toilet facilities will be moved to the northern carpark and we’ll install temporary fencing and relocate services and utilities.

Sections of the Platform One canopy will be removed and a temporary canopy installed to allow us to safely carry out works.

A new temporary car park east of the station accessed from Hallam Road is also now open. The southern carpark has closed.

The Hallam Road level crossing will be removed by raising the rail line over Hallam Road.

The level crossing will be removed and the new Hallam Station built by 2022.
