It’s full steam ahead on the Bell to Moreland project this week with the last L-beam craned into place recently.

This means the concrete sections of the new elevated rail line are now complete, and work will soon begin on laying ballast, sleepers and rail track.

With each of the 268 concrete L-beams in place, the cranes on site will be packed up, ready for their next job.

Coburg and Moreland heritage buildings

Restoration works have begun on the heritage buildings at Coburg and Moreland stations. The project team will be restoring the doors, windows, roofing, chimneys, brick facades and building interiors.

We have protection measures in place to ensure works can be safely undertaken without damaging the buildings in any way.

We’ll update our Facebook page and photo gallery as the works progress.
