Historical photos of Kingston wanted

02 Oct 2019

Remember when photos were stored in boxes and not in the cloud?

We want to see your ‘back-in-the-day’ shots of shopping strips, train stations, beaches, and fashionable locals in the suburbs from Cheltenham to Carrum. Any pre-2000 photos are welcome!

Your photos will be part of a special display at the Mentone and Cheltenham Info Hub as part of this year’s Kingston Seniors Festival.

Drag out the old albums – or visit your grandparents and ask to look at theirs – and scan and email shots to contact@levelcrossings.vic.gov.au

You can also drop photos into the Info Hub at 116 Balcombe Road, Mentone, on Tuesdays between 9:00am and 12:00 noon, and Thursdays between 2:00pm and 5:00pm, where our friendly staff can help scan the photos.

We are hosting other events during Kingston Seniors Festival. Places are still available at the festival’s free Flavours of Carrum event on Wednesday 23 October from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Experts will explain the works taking place in Carrum, while guests can enjoy lunch from local traders. Bookings essential – call 1800 105 105.
