We're removing 10 more level crossings by 2025, bringing the total to 85 level crossings gone for good.

Contract signed for Reservoir level crossing removal

05 Dec 2018

An Alliance led by John Holland, KBR and MTM will oversee the $232 million works that will deliver an elevated rail bridge over High Street, Reservoir and a new, modern Reservoir train station.

This Alliance has a strong track record having successfully removed level crossings at Skye/Overton Road in Frankston, Buckley Street in Essendon, Camp Road in Campbellfield and building the new Frankston station.

LXRA has been talking with the community about the upgraded station precinct and updated precinct designs will be released in early 2019.

The new premium station will include above ground platforms with access via lifts and stairs. In response to community feedback, the station precinct will better connect the east and west of the Reservoir station precinct – an added benefit of a rail over design.

Work is now underway and the project is scheduled for completion in 2020. For information and updates about the project and disruptions during construction visit
