Current disruptions

Construction starting in Carrum

23/02/2018

To allow for the safe construction of the new Station Street road bridge, we will establish a small construction site for equipment on both sides of the river on Station Street and a larger site compound on the western end of the Launching Way car park.

All ramps at the Patterson River Launching Way will remain open throughout construction.

Starting on Tuesday 13 March, the pedestrian bridge will be closed and detours will be in place until the bridge opens in late 2018.

We will work hard to minimise disruptions wherever is possible, but some localised noise and disruptions are expected. Access to properties will be maintained and traffic management will be in place as required for community safety.

Immediate works include:

  • Site investigations on the pedestrian ramps connecting Station Street to the Patterson River paths. These works will take up to eight days to complete, weather dependent, and will start on the Bonbeach side of the Patterson River and then move to the Carrum side of Patterson River. Signed detours will be in place for pedestrians and cyclists. Installation of fencing and gates to ensure the safety of our workers and pedestrians during construction.
  • Establishment of construction sites on both sides of the river on Station Street and on the western end of the Launching Way car park.
  • Removal of vegetation on either side of the river at the ends of Station Street in preparation for the removal of the pedestrian bridge.

For your safety, please observe any signage and instructions put in place during these works.
