We're removing 10 more level crossings by 2025, bringing the total to 85 level crossings gone for good.

Come and explore Werribee’s new public spaces

06 Dec 2021

The Werribee Street and Cherry Street level crossings are gone for good – making central Werribee completely level crossing free and improving safety for local motorists, cyclists and pedestrians.

This summer, come and explore these exciting new spaces

From Saturday 11 December until late January 2022, community members can access the newly transformed Werribee Street and Cherry Street level crossing removal project sites and take part in an easy self-guided, interactive walking tour.

Join us for a community celebration to launch our self-guided walking tour

Saturday 11 December, from 10am to 1pm at:

  • Cherry Street plaza near Woolworths and Bunnings for sweet treats
  • Werribee Street skate park beneath the rail bridge for a sausage sizzle

There will be showbags and special prizes for the whole family, and you can meet Richard Briggs, the artist who created the public artwork installed in the paving at Cherry Street.

The self-guided walk is fun for all ages and includes five interactive questions about the projects.

Simply scan the QR codes on the 5 key signs to discover more about the projects, how they were built, how they’ve improved safety and created new community spaces for the Werribee community to enjoy.

Complete all 5 questions on the walking tour will receive a drink from a local café and go in the draw to win a hamper filled with goodies from local traders.

Find out more about the self-guided walking tour and question points.
