Accessibility tours at Frankston Station
19 Oct 2018
Over 30 people with vision and mobility impairments visited Frankston Station on Tuesday 16 October, to take part in accessibility tours of the new station and surrounds.
The project team and station staff partnered with experts from Vision Australia and Guide Dogs Victoria to host the tours of the new station, which features improved access and facilities for people with a disability. These tours were open to anyone that wished to attend.
Visitors were guided around the station, practised boarding and exiting trains and tested the new shelters, hearing loops and other station facilities.
The tours were an opportunity for people to familiarise themselves with the new station and encourage future independent travel, as well as provide important feedback to the project team.
