Unearthed: A Shared Heritage – Launch of National Archaeology Week
National Archaeology Week is just around the corner, so why not spend a morning immersed in the past?
The Mernda Rail Extension Project and the City of Whittlesea are partnering to present a special launch event on Monday 21 May, at Whittlesea Civic Centre.
Learn about the rich local history through artefacts discovered in last year’s dig in Plenty Gorge Park. The event will showcase two talks from archaeologists in the know:
- The Archaeology of the Old Bridge Inn – Dr Michelle Negus Cleary.
- Historical Survey of the South Morang to Mernda Heritage Railway Line – Jasmine Scibilia.
When: Monday 21 May 2018, 10:00am to 11:30am
Location: City of Whittlesea Civic Centre, 25 Ferres Boulevard, South Morang. Free parking on site.
RSVP: Registrations for the National Archaeology Week Launch are closed.
Accessibility requirements: Please advise City of Whittlesea on 9217 2170.
This event is part of the Unearthed: A Shared Heritage artefacts display at City of Whittlesea Civic Centre which runs from Monday 21 May to Friday 29 June 2018.
