  • What is the recruitment process?
  • Am I eligible to apply for this program?
    • To be eligible to apply for the LXRA Graduate Program you must:

      • have completed your undergraduate degree between mid-2017 and January 2019 and able to provide evidence of successful completion before the program starts
      • have unlimited work rights as an Australian/New Zealand citizen or permanent resident at the time of application.

If you are a University of Melbourne (UoM) student operating within the Melbourne Model, please note:

      • If you will have completed your Masters at the UoM immediately after completing your undergraduate qualification at the UoM under the Melbourne Model, you are eligible for the 2018 Graduate Program.
      • Where a candidate has not completed their undergraduate qualification at the UoM and then completes a Masters qualification at the UoM, the individual will not be eligible.
  • Do you accept international students?
    • Unfortunately we are unable to accept international students due to the eligibility requirement of Australian or New Zealand Citizens and permanent residents.

  • How long is the Graduate Program?
    • The LXRA Graduate Program runs for 24 months. In that time you will work in a number of different areas, developing a variety of skills along the journey. While rotations are a part of the program, you can expect to spend the majority of your time within your relevant discipline.

  • I don't live in Melbourne, can I still apply?
    • Interstate candidates are most welcome to apply, but if shortlisted you will need to make your own travel arrangements to attend assessment centres and, if offered a role, cover any relocation expenses.

  • What is LXRA's approach to Diversity and Inclusion?
    • At LXRA, we place great value on the diversity of thought and experiences brought to us by our teams unique backgrounds. It is through this commitment we are able to drive innovation and deliver great change, transforming the way Victorians live, work and travel.
      – Kevin Devlin CEO LXRA

At LXRA you are encouraged to bring your whole self to work each day regardless of ethnicity, gender/intersex status, religion or non-religion, age, disability and so on. We recognise and celebrate the diversity of our people and appreciate the breadth of skills and experiences this brings to our team.

  • What is an LXRA Graduate salary?
    • As a Graduate you will start at a VPS 3.1 salary range, which is subject to six-monthly increases based on the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2016.

  • What will my hours be?
    • Your standard hours will be 38 hours per week, but there may be times when you required to work or travel outside of these hours. This is particularly the case when working on an Alliance. These arrangements will be in consultation with your manager.

  • What does the learning and development program look like?
    • AT LXRA we are committed to your personal and professional development. As a Graduate, you will take part in our LX Graduate League – a structured learning series that delivers both formal and informal learning opportunities. Equipped with our Graduate Learning Roadmap – which outlines the training and development opportunities available to all Graduates across the two-year program – you will acquire essential skills to set you up for success in your career with LXRA and beyond.

  • When will I start the Graduate Program?
    • Enjoy your well-earned summer break before starting your story with us in early February 2018! Between your offer and start date, we will be in contact and invite you in to the offices to meet the rest of your cohort and some of your teams.

  • Will I be required to travel?
    • Due to the nature of what we do, no two days are the same. We work in a fast-paced project environment, so travel may be required, particularly if your rotation is on site at one of our alliance offices. These offices are located across Melbourne.

  • What are my annual leave entitlements?
    • As a Graduate you are entitled to four weeks annual leave. An additional loading payment is made to all annual leave days taken.

  • What happens after the two-year program?
    • After spending two years with us, we will have equipped you with both career and employability skills that can be transferred between projects, businesses and even different careers if you so choose! Our structured learning and development program is designed to set you up for success and upon completion of the program we encourage you to apply for longer-term roles within the VPS. Subject to business requirements, you may also be offered a further contract with LXRA of up to three years to further enhance your knowledge and skills.

  • Who do I contact if you have a question about the application process?
    • If you have any difficulties in regards to your application you can email us

NOTE: Due to the volume of applications we are unable to provide specific feedback to candidates if they are unsuccessful at the online application and video interview. However, we will always provide specific feedback following assessment centres and one-on-one interviews.
