As part of major construction on the Main Road Level Crossing Removal Project, there will be changes to train services on the Sunbury line during October 2015.

Works at St Albans Station will see the existing station buildings on Platforms 2 and 3 demolished, along with Platform 2. A temporary platform will be constructed to allow train services to resume.

Other works include tree removal, the installation of fencing and the relocation of utility services.

SUNDAY 4 OCTOBER UNTIL THE FIRST SERVICE ON FRIDAY 30 OCTOBER

  • Trains to Watergardens/Sunbury will not stop at St Albans.
  • Shuttle buses will replace trains between St Albans and Keilor Plains. Journey times may increase by up to 15 minutes.
  • City-bound trains will operate as normal, except for the dates below.

SATURDAY 10 OCTOBER (AFTER 9PM) UNTIL THE FIRST SERVICE ON MONDAY 12 OCTOBER

As part of Metro track works (Calder Sidings Project):

  • Buses will replace Metro trains between Sunshine and Sunbury. Journey times may increase by up to 35 minutes.
  • Coaches will replace V/Line Bendigo trains between Melbourne and Bendigo on Saturday 10 October. Journey times will increase by up to 60 minutes.
  • Coaches will replace V/Line Bendigo trains between Melbourne and Sunbury on Sunday 11 October. Trains will continue to run between Sunbury and Bendigo/Echuca. Coaches will replace Swan Hill trains between Melbourne and Bendigo. Please allow an extra 30 minutes for the journey.

FRIDAY 23 OCTOBER (AFTER 11PM) UNTIL THE FIRST SERVICE ON MONDAY 26 OCTOBER

As part of Main Road level crossing removal works:

  • Buses will replace Metro trains between Sunshine and Sunbury. Journey times may increase by up to 35 minutes.
  • From 10pm on Friday 23 October, coaches will replace Bendigo trains from Melbourne to Sunbury. On Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October, coaches will replace all Bendigo and Echuca trains between Melbourne and Sunbury. Trains will continue to run between Sunbury and Bendigo/Echuca. Coaches will replace Swan Hill trains between Melbourne and Bendigo. Please allow an extra 30 minutes for the journey.
