5 November 2015
Due to the removal of the level crossings at North, McKinnon and Centre roads, the Frankston line will have a new weekday peak timetable from Monday 16 November 2015 until mid-2016.
During this time, all Frankston line services will become stopping all stations from Frankston to Flinders Street Stations, with no express trains in the morning and afternoon.
Express services that become stopping all station trains, will continue to travel direct to/from Flinders Street Station. All current City Loop services will continue to stop all at stations within the City Loop.
These changes are necessary due to the need to close the third train track between Moorabbin and Caulfield stations so we can safely carry out construction and keep trains running on the Frankston line at the same time.
Four weekday services will be cancelled to enable the Frankston line express services to stop all stations (see table below).
The following services will be cancelled:
|Departure time||Direction||Station to station|
|8:25 am||To City||Moorabbin Station to Flinders Street Station|
|9:09 am||From City||Flinders Street Station to Mordialloc Station|
|5:21 pm||To City||Frankston Station to Flinders Street Station|
|6:25 pm||From City||Flinders Street Station to Mordialloc Station|
Customers at Hawksburn, Toorak, Armadale, Glenhuntly, Ormond, McKinnon, Bentleigh, Patterson, Moorabbin and Highett stations will have a train around every five minutes during the AM and PM peak times.
We apologise for the inconvenience caused to customers as we undertake these critical works to remove the North, McKinnon and Centre road level crossings.
Customers should plan ahead and allow up to ten minutes extra travel time. To find out the new timing of services on the Frankston line and connections with Stony Point services, visit the PTV website or call 1800 800 007 (6:00am – midnight daily).
